Adding a ‘Remote’ to Git

You need to add a ‘remote’ repo to your local git before you can push to it.

Recommended naming conventions for remote repos are:
website-name-build (staging)
website-name-live (live)

Instructions

  1. Open Terminal
  2. Navigate to local (/sites) repo
  3. Add the remote
    git remote add lanchester-build ssh://root@194.39.166.106.srvlist.ukfast.net:2020/var/repo/lanchester.git/

SERVER FIREWALL

For security reasons, you can only ssh to the live server from the office public IP address (82.69.28.99)
